Acting & Drama Games
Some of our favourites include:
-
Buzzy Bees
-
Four Corners
-
Penguin Name Game
This helps the children prepare their bodies and minds for the upcoming class activities. These games focus on multiple areas including characterisation, concentration, confidence,

creativity, imagination, ice-breakers,
improvisation, storytelling, teamwork & trust.
Dancing
This helps the children develop a love of rhythmical movement, increases range of movement, flexibility
strength, stamina and motivates them to stay active as they grow.

Singing
This encourages the children's creative
language, rhyme, clearer diction, projection and expands vocabulary. This also boosts their confidence to speak or sing in front of an audience.

Cheerleading
This helps the children gain a better understanding of how to control their bodies. This also teaches them self-discipline in a supportive, encouraging environment, the ability to be a team player (learning the basics of collaboration, cooperation and compromise) and also supports the mentality of working hard to improve and achieve, whilst not giving up.
Motions
Shapes

Acrobatics
This helps the children develop strength
and flexibility in their upper body, lower
body and in their core to increase their
gross motor skills.

Acrobatics is based on progressions, so no matter what level you are, there are always sufficient steps to work on.

Arts & Crafts
This helps the children enhance their fine motor skills by working with a wide range of colours, shapes, materials, and tools to create character masks, show tickets, set, props, costume and more. This is also a perfect time to let their creativity flow.

Stage Troupe Teams

2021/22 - Spring Term - KS1
Fairy Tale: The Gingerbread Man &
Goldilocks And The Three Bears
This term we have been working on 'Goldilocks And The Three Bears'. First we looked at the story plot, then we looked at the characters and how they walk, talk and interact with each other. We named and decorated gingerbread people.

2021/22 - Spring Term - Dance Team
Lift Off Dance Festival 2022
This term we have been working on a dance for 'Lift Off Dance Festival 2022' at South Hill Park. The team auditioned to get in and have nominated Dance & Drama Captains. We've worked a lot on team building, trust, confidence and general stage craft. After our first performance at 'Lift Off Dance Festival 2022' we were incredibly proud of the team and how well they performed and represented the school.

2021/22 - Spring Term - Reception
Fairy Tale: The Three Little Pigs & The Gingerbread Man
